**** UPDATE **** With the recent (3/31/2017) passing of my Dad, I have since sold this car as I lost all interest in it. My Dad has always been the reason for my love of these cars and without him here I have no desire to continue building it.
Here's my dream car. I had been watching this 55 sitting in a nearby neighborhood for quite a while. Finally one day I decided to stop and inquire if it could be bought. After a week of letting the owner think over my cash offer, I was bringing it home as you can see in some of these pictures. The 55 Chevy is the finest automobile that has ever been made in my opinion and I never dreamed I would be able to own one again. I am very excited and will start working on it in the Spring as I'm not much for getting outside during the winter.
It had a wore out 327 V8, 3-speed transmission w/factory overdrive which I replaced with a 350 SBC and a TH400 transmission. The previous owner painted it about 25 years ago with Imron paint and it's still decent to look at surprisingly enough. It had some old Keystone Classic mag wheels that I've replaced with new Cragar S/S wheels. Otherwise, there only a couple very small spots of rust. Overall this car is one of the nicest survivors I have seen in many years.
