Collector of Vintage Gas Pumps & Classic Cars.
I've spent most of my life using, collecting, restoring and photographing these wondering pieces of American history. As you browse thru this website you will see a variety of pumps, signs, cars & other hobbies that have influenced my life in some small manner. Starting at the young age of 14, i began my first job pumping gas at my dad's Texaco service station. Dad owned 2 Texaco's and 1 Gulf station during the 70's and early 80's. Growing up in this environment produced a desire in me to collect most anything Texaco related. As i grew older i became more and more fond of Vintage gas pumps and signage. I eventually became friends with a couple other collectors who shared the same interest in this hobby. As a result, we started planning trips throughout the rural Texas county roads and back roads every Saturday for a couple years, we found ourselves up before dawn running down some highway, dirt road or cow-trail in search of that ever elusive treasure. We were never disappointed in our days work for it was very seldom we came home with less than a pickup truck full of vintage pumps, signs and Coke-Cola machines.
Many years have passed since those days and both my "gas pump hunting friends" have since passed on. Many pumps and signs have passed through my hands and i have wished numerous times i could get some of those items back. As life moved on, I started a family thus bringing an end to my running the roads. Sadly, times are much different now thanks to online auctions and TV reality shows. As a result, I have watched the public fall victim by paying insanely stupid prices for these vintage relics. Some items on a rare occasion i have found to be within a reasonable price range but those are virtually nonexistent anymore. It is sad to see where this hobby has gone and why it has gone there. However, my love for this hobby continues to keep me always on the hunt for the next find. Even though this situation has dramatically altered the hobby of collecting from a financial standpoint for me, I still love the thrill of the search. These oil & gas relics are still out there in rural America waiting to be rescued. Many farms and country homes across America still have some of these old pumps, signs laying in pastures, fields or behind the "old barn".
If you know of any old gas pumps, signs, pop machines or classic cars in ANY condition, please contact me. I will consider traveling if the item is reasonably priced and within a reasonable distance.
